Factions of the Tail Gunner Universe
The galaxy is divided among military, corporate, and religious entities all fighting for control and the right to be the most annoying. Every faction has their own unique flag, culture, tract city/home design, and weapons etiquette.
United Galactic Fleet (UGF)
The United Galactic Fleet (U.G.F) is a universal military force founded and led by Hybrid 001 (Cliff). After suffering defeat, Cliff fled his fight with The Anti-Gunner and went into hiding.
Word spread fast that Cliff was the first to fight The Anti-Gunner and live. Some branded him a coward, but most rallied behind him as a hero and happily joined his new military.
The United Galactic Fleet accepts recruits from all species, backgrounds, and planets and promotes itself as a utilitarian military for the universe—one big happy military family.
The UGF is strict, demanding, disciplined, and operates like a well-oiled and overworked machine. They control most of the territory at any given moment and are seen as the “stable” faction.
Midnight Cruisers
The intergalactic space mafia founded and run by Hybrid 002 (Kid Charlemagne), a charismatic non-binary drug dealer. KC initially landed on the moon of Crysal (orbiting the planet Zatt) and decided to flee the whole conflict entirely.
Kid Charlemagne fled to the Crichton system and set up shop on the planet Rostro II. Without any interference, KC’s empire exploded overnight and they now have their hands in everything. Guns, drugs, rare and illegal resources—you name it, they sell it.
The Midnight Cruisers operate under a massive front company. The workers are sanitation, construction, garbage, and toxic waste disposal. Every member is heavily armed, holding, and loaded with cash at any given moment.
The Midnight Cruisers are a massive headache for the UGF and the Serpents. MC’s frequently distribute outside of bases and temples, causing massive shootouts at all hours in all major cities. The Heretic despises drug dealers and users, and Cliff has zero tolerance for drugs in his military. Punishments are severe for engaging in MC activities or interacting with their places of business.
Serpents of the Light
A radical religious militia created and ruled over by Hybrid 003 (The Heretic). Founded after she landed on and terraformed the toxic, inhospitable planet of Gling, she then tricked her friend Hybrid 004 (Nightstalker) into landing a ship aboard a visiting alien vessel and hid a bomb aboard. She detonated the bomb, killing everyone aboard and ruining first contact with a new species. Nightstalker’s body was launched into a frosty moon, where she was stuck regenerating for years.
Word spread like wildfire and The Heretic became feared and revered overnight. Her dedicated followers, called the Serpents of the Light, adore everything about her. She rules over them with the help of her hybrid lapdogs: Hybrid 005 (Blaspherereion), Hybrid 069 (Big Bow), Hybrid 091 (Blessed Artillery), and Hybrid 024 (The Emaciated Holy Figure).
The Radikult
A homegrown fan militia dedicated to Hybrid 004 (Nightstalker). After regenerating and waking up, Nightstalker was hated and savaged for letting The Heretic get away with her crimes. Meanwhile, a huge portion of the population saw her as some sort of folk hero and started a militia in her honor. She does not approve and does not like them, but they follow her around and copy her every move. If she gets drunk or high and passes out on the floor (often), they will as well.
The Radikult frequently clashes with the Serpents and the UGF. The Radikult are heavy party animals who show up wherever Nightstalker is and wreck the place. They openly mock The Heretic and her obsession with Nightstalker, which causes many gunfights and proxy wars. The Radikult and Midnight Cruisers get along quite well.
Agents of Steel
Android and bio-android species that worship the AI version of Luau. Luau had her powers, resources, and abilities hampered by The All-Gunner when she began to rise in popularity with the common citizen of the universe. In response, the populations—tired of their calls falling on deaf ears—created an AI version of Luau named Luaxua.AI. They eventually replaced the real Luau with her and started murdering those who refused to cooperate.
Every member on Megalopolis is hooked into a hivemind/computer and all operate the same, think the same, and act as one mind at all times. It is required to be hooked into the machine and at one with Luaxua.AI. Failure to cooperate results in death.
