Tail Gunner

Hybrids

Dr. Angel Witch and her hybrid program were started after the end of the 2nd judgement of Yorsa. The Anti-Gunner had judged and decimated the Yorseers for a second time, but this only made them angrier. Dr. Angel Witch spent years working on this special project, before it was finally complete. 300 augmented machines built for war. A deadly mixture of organic and machine. The All-Gunner saw this and fired the soul of The Anti-Gunner into the very first hybrid test subject named Sophie.

Historians argue about the numbers (Hybrid 001 or 000?), but nowadays most people refer to her as Hybrid 000 (Sophie). Sophie was the initial test hybrid who was intended to be a demonstration of their "new product" for all of Yorsa to see. The All-Gunner fired the soul of The Anti-Gunner into her body when her hybrid pod landed in the ocean. This cause a horrible merge where the two began to fight for battle/control over the body, the mind, and all components of war machinery.

Sophie laid waste to The Yorseers and annihilated the entire planet. During the chaos, Dr. Angel Witch made the decision to launch all 300 hybrids out into space at random. One last middle finger to the universe, before the androids (reprogrammed by Sophie) mutilated the doctor and made her watch as they devoured her staff.

The 300 hybrids are spread out all around the universe in varying states of operation and some aren't even active yet. The first to activate and gain control were Hybrids 001, 002, 003, 004 (how lucky). Each one now has a faction.

Hybrids are walking furry machines built for war by a psychotic species obsessed with war and tactics. Hybrids come in all shapes and sizes, but typically they have two metal prong ears, look like meerkats, varying degrees of body mods, android skin, and weaponry. Hybrids have their own fans, haters, factions, clubs, and more dedicated to them. Some are more feared (The Heretic) than others (low ranking hybrids). The universe has a hybrid ranking/popularity system so hybrids can see their numbers in real time. Yes.
